Wavescape

The DIFF beach movie was amazing. Hundreds of people sitting and picnicing on battery beach at night.

Artist Satement

I am currently a B-tech student at Durban University of Technology doing Jewellery Design and Manufacturing. My B-tech on marketing myself and my jewellery. I enjoy making filigree jewellery, I love how it is so fine and intricate, and although each piece takes long to produce I find the process very therapeutic. I am inspired by everyday objects and forms. I often oxidize my silver which I feel creates more of an interest in the piece, all you get is a little glitter of the filigree which makes you look closer and then you see the intensity of the piece. Although I love making my filigree pieces I am trying to appeal to the taste of the broader public to get my name out there so for my B-tech my aim is to try combine my style of jewellery with the commercial pieces which people are more likely to purchase.
